Anti-Dandruff Treatment - Ketoconazole Shampoo

Dandruff is a common problem for millions of people. Almost every one of us had somehow faced problems with dandruff. Ugly white flakes on a head skin and shoulders can ruin the look of the prettiest haircut. For some people it is not a big problem because dandruff goes away just by itself, but for others it is a real big problem.

There are a lot of shampoos, hair masks, scrubs, home remedies for dandruff treatment. But unfortunately most of them are not treating the actual cause of dandruff - fungus infection, but just symptoms.

Ketoconazole shampoo is a treatment for diseases related with scalp problems. It is used to control dandruff. It can help fighting itching, scaling and flaking that is associated with dandruff. Ketoconazole is a preparation that prevents growth of fungus that in most cases is actually causing dandruff. Also in some situations it could be used as a treatment for some other skin conditions that are appearing due to fungal infections of a scalp. Some people use it as a method of dandruff prevention. When using it as a prophylaxis it is used less frequently - just once a week.

Some single research claims that ketoconazole shampoo is also a hair loss treatment. There were made some experiments on mice, but still mechanism of action isn't clear.

How to use: Apply ketoconazole shampoo on wet hair and scalp. Completely cover head skin and hair with lather. Leave it for about 3-5 minutes. Rinse hair and scalp with warm water. Use it about two times a week.
