The Best Way to Apply Makeup for Prominent Eyes

If you have prominent eyes, then you will want to take special care when applying your eye makeup. If you are new to applying makeup and are confused as to how to apply eye makeup because things you read are contrary to what you should do, here are some great tips to follow.

The standard way to apply eye makeup is to have the highlighted (lightest) shade on your eyelid and browbone, the midtone (darker shade) in the crease, and the accent (darkest color) on the outer portion of your eye.

However, if your eyes are prominent, you must not apply your makeup this way. Before we get into that, how do you determine if you have prominent eyes? Prominent eyes can be best described as being more forward, or almost protruding from the face. I've heard some people call them "fish eyes" or "bug eyes," but we are not critters, people! You just happen to have eyes that are very full and outstanding!

Because your eye is so full and more forward, the goal with eye makeup is to help push the eye back. Remember the three shades mentioned above that are used in eye makeup application (highlighter, midtone, accent)? You are going to apply these three colors in a very specific way to accomplish this. The colors you choose depend upon the color of your eye and your skin tone, but we are not going into that here.

Here is the down-low on how to apply makeup for prominent eyes:

1) Apply the highlight shade to your browbone only.

2) The midtone shade is applied by starting at the base of your upper lash line and sweep the color up and over your entire eyelid, extending the color all the way up to your browbone.

3) Apply the accent shade by starting at the base of your lash line, then sweep it up across the lid and into the crease. You can also sweep this darkest color underneath the lower lash line as well for a softened eyeliner look.

You need these two different darker colors layered because of the effect they have in softening your eye. Using an eye brush makes this task easy and helps blend the colors together. Do not be tempted to add a little highlight to your eyelid. This defeats the purpose of helping the appearance of your eye recede.

If your a novice to makeup application, don't worry. As with most things, practice helps you improve your skills. Don't be afraid to try something new, but don't try a new makeup application technique just before a big event - it will cause you stress by wondering if you did it right and make you feel self-conscious.

7 Benefits of Laser Hair Removal Treatments

Everywhere around the world, people are saying goodbye to the ancient practice of epilating, waxing, shaving and plucking to welcome laser hair removal.

Why? Well one obvious and very popular reason is that it is permanent. Yes, you betcha, no more six-week visits to the beautician to sit there in sheer pain.

This sought after treatment uses technology so efficient that it works nearly on any type of skin and can conform to suit any area on the body. That's right, it is a service (one of the lucky few) that is being driven by consumer demand.

Apart from the obvious benefit that we mentioned above, some of the other benefits are:

1. It can get you rid of unwanted hair in almost any part of your body - it has been proved that 60-95% of targeted hair can be got rid of within a span of 6 months.
2. It is relatively cheap - if you add up how much you would spend for the rest of your life on an alternative hair removal treatment (that is only temporary), most of us would agree that laser hair removal is (in the long run) going to save you a lot of money.
3. It is safe, quick and kind on skin so you needn't worry about ingrown hairs, irritation or red bumps.
4. Save time - after laser hair removal, you won't need to spend mornings on end at your local beautician.
5. It is painless - very few customers face discomfort or pain, which is a great relief when most of the alternatives like waxing can be extremely painful.
6. Any of the unsupported risks fair outweigh the benefit.
7. Laser hair removal is versatile and caters to all body parts including legs, arms and sensitive areas like face and bikini.

With so many benefits, it is easy to see why people are making the switch from temporary to permanent hair removal. It is a much viable investment option, which suits today's busy marketplace.

This treatment is so popular in fact that any salon or cosmetics treatment facility which doesn't offer it is at a huge disadvantage. Not only are you not capitalising on a genuine need within your market, you are limiting your staff and your business to traditional cosmetics methods and let's face it, no-one wants to be old especially in the beauty game.

Laser machines are ideal for many beauty treatments including hair removal, and can be purchased or leased to suit your budget. And we believe that with even the limited amount of promotion, you should have laser clients walking through the door in no time at all - for some, and most, it is a revolutionary service that just makes sense.

Make Up For Brown Eyes

Girls with brown eyes can consider themselves lucky - very dramatic, dark make up as well as bright and neutral one go well with brown irises. However, it doesn't mean that there are no rules to follow and you are free to do anything. The look of brown eyes even without make up is very deep, but you can do a few things to intensify it a little bit more. Here you find a few examples of what can be done to make your eyes look even more spectacular!

If you're a brown-eyed girl you can call eyeliner your new best friend, as it is a perfect tool to make your look more seductive and intensive. You can use it on upper lid and on the lower one to emphasize the shape of the outer corners of your eyes. It is best to not use eyeliner or dark eye shadows on the inner corners of your eyes, as it makes them look smaller. Instead, use bright, natural eye shadows in the inner corners of your eyes and make a dark line on your lids with eyeliner, starting from the center of the eye. Experiment with different shapes of lines and different colors of eyeliners. Raise your eyeliner up when you're finishing drawing a line and give it a little twist. It creates an illusion that your eyes are almond-shaped. Dark blue or navy-colored line on your eyelids make your eyes look more intriguing. Proper use of red eyeliner can give your eyes very warm contour and fierce look.

You will achieve the best effects when you combine eyeliner with an eye shadow of similar color. Use it near the eyeliner line to make it look like if it was smudged on your eyelids. You're free to combine two different eye shadows, even the ones with very distinctive color. Just remember about the rule of applying the darkest colors in the outer and the brightest colors in the inner corners of your eyes. For a finish, put two or three coats of mascara on your lashes. Again, you're free to use even the darkest mascara, with one coat being appropriate even for a daytime look.

Brown eyes look best with equally dark brows. If you're a natural brunette all you have to do is trim your brows. To accentuate their color and open-up your eyes, use very bright, shiny and natural color underneath your brows. If your brows have natural blonde color dying it with henna is an option you should seriously consider. Light brown henna color is recommended to all of those blond-haired girls, who have dark, brown eyes.

How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks For Good

If you are like me, one of the thousands of people plagued by infamous stretch marks, do not fret, there are solutions available to you. To get rid of stretch marks you must first be aware as to what can cause them.

Unfortunately when I was growing up I was not schooled on the importance of using body lotion. Naive, I believed that if you put on lotion you were simply making your skin greasy and more susceptible to breaking out. I was 100% wrong. Skin is a vital organ, and needs to stay constantly moisturized. In keeping the skin's elasticity in check you will reduce your chances in getting stretch marks that are onset by either weight gain or growth spurts. Personally, I never used body lotion until recently. If I had any idea as to how important it was to use while growing up I would probably not have any stretch marks at all.

I have been on numerous websites and have spoken to numerous professionals asking how to get rid of stretch marks and would like to share the knowledge that I have obtained on the subject.

It is difficult to completely banish the marks, as they are actually scars, but by doing the following you can make them less noticeable. Here is how to get rid of stretch marks.

1. I gained way too many marks by suddenly gaining 40 pounds while in college. I changed my diet and started to exercise more frequently. Once I lost the weight, the marks shrank and became virtually unnoticeable. They are definitely still there, but you can only see them up close.

2. As mentioned before, moisturize! If you are lucky enough to not have any visible marks do not put your skin in the position where if a sudden growth spurt happens you will suddenly gain the marks. Mothers to be use tummy butter or cocoa butter on your abdomen to help prevent the dreaded baby bump pink stretch marks. Teenagers or anyone who may be noticing their weight increasing should also use body lotion. If lotion is not used, skin that suddenly stretches will form scars that almost resemble cracks. The marks can appear to be either white or pink. To prevent this, choose a lotion with a lot of Vitamin E content or cocoa butter. These ingredients will improve the skins elasticity and help you steer clear of stretch mark alley.

If you are like me, a little too late in preventing them, it is never ever too late to moisturize. To get rid of stretch marks, I teamed up diet with exercise and bought a bottle of Vitamin E firming lotion. I applied this twice a day and it has helped me immensely. You can also purchase a bottle of pure Vitamin E oil or Vitamin E oil capsules and apply that to the affected area, pure oil however may make you feel uncomfortable because it is rather greasy.

3. Finally there are medical treatments available to you if you have a severe case and extra money on hand. The most popular treatments are surgical solutions that include laser therapy, microdermabrasion (which is a cosmetic procedure where the top-most layer of skin is removed) or even cosmetic surgery.

If option three sounds scary and expensive you can exfoliate your skin at home. Moisturize, increase your water intake and add exercise to your routine which will all aid in reducing the appearance of the marks. Some people even go tanning to tighten and even out their skin tone. Beware of over the counter creams that promise mark removal. Most of those creams are a combination of Vitamin E oil and other scar treatment medication but is sometimes not effective.

With these tips in mind I hope the above will help you in your effort to reduce your stretch marks.

Dealing With Post Plastic Surgery Depression!

For many people, plastic surgery improves quality of life, but for some patients, recovery and results can lead to depression. Surgery cannot offer perfection, but it can contour and sculpt your body. It is important that patients have realistic goals because post-surgery can cause what is termed, Post Plastic Surgery Depression.

Post Surgery Depression can occur when patients have high expectations about their procedure and their desired results aren't fulfilled. Some patients expect results right after surgery and may not realize that recovery time may take up to a year. The side effects of post-surgery include: swelling, bruising, and bleeding. Medication and low impact movement is advised by the doctor for a few weeks. For some people, the effects and the anticipation of the results can cause stress. The emotional and social expectation from society, family, and friends may be disappointing and cause depression for the patient.

If a patient withdraws from society and neglects their personal life after surgery, post plastic surgery depression maybe the problem. Counseling and medication will be prescribed to patients who suffer from post surgery depression. Usually a patient stops feeling depressed after the healing process of surgery, if it continues or worsens, your doctor may advise you to seek a therapist.

Recovery time from surgery, depending on the procedure, may take up to a year. Some patients may heal faster or feel less pain than others; recovery time depends on each patient. Follow-up visits with the doctor are required to track progress after the surgery.

Before seeking the surgery, be honest with yourself about what kind of goals you expect. Doctors will screen patients and ask for your health history to determine if you're a candidate for plastic surgery. People who have a history of depression and health problems may not be ideal candidates for the surgery.

The best candidates for plastic surgery are people who have realistic expectations, have a healthy self-image and are in good health. While plastic surgery may change your life in many ways, it should be considered to change one part of your body.

You have to understand that you are not the only one feeling this way. There are thousands of plastic surgery patients feeling the "after" impact not only on body but also in their mind. In order to make yourself feel better you can find a group of similar people to share experiences and recovery ways. It can also help you understand your thoughts and deal with them. Being social always helps. Do not forget to relax and care for your self.

Cosmetic Surgery - Benefits And Risks

We live in a world where everyone is aiming to achieve greatness not only in their profession but also in the way they look. Cosmetic surgery and treatments are on the rise as more and more people are striving to get rid of their imperfections and become perfect.

Merits and Demerits

Cosmetic surgery has its highs and lows. Depending on the type of treatment, area of treatment, and extent of treatment, these risks and benefits vary. It does not always involve an actual surgical procedure. Some just involve a few injections and other medical procedures.

One of the major advantages of cosmetic surgery is the satisfaction it gives the patient once he comes out of surgery. The person would have that perfect nose or a beautiful chin or bigger breasts and it would be just the way the person had imagined. Another advantage is that plastic surgery is not just done to enhance one's looks. There are many defects and diseases that can be cured with it. Rhinoplasty, Botox, liposuction, etc. is used to treat many ailments. For example Botox injections are used to treat excessive sweating and migraines. Rhinoplasty is used to treat respiratory impediment and trauma to the nasal cavity. Face lifts, chemical peels, and skin grafts can be used to treat damage caused by burns. When it comes to disadvantages, the first thing that can be mentioned here is the misuse or overuse of cosmetic treatment.

There are also risks like excessive bleeding, scarring, or bruising. Other side effects caused by cosmetic surgery are numbness, pain, swelling, and limited mobility. Another problem that generally exists is the too high expectations from such surgeries. Some patients get disappointed with the way the surgery turns out.

A way to reduce the risk is to ask the right questions and avoid unnecessary surgery. It is better to choose a cosmetic surgeon of reasonable reputation to carry out the surgery. Go to him in advance, give him the details of what the problem is or what is intended, and get his opinion. A good surgeon always gives sound advice about what procedure need to be done. If the problem can be solved without surgery, he will suggest that as well. Good surgeons also look into the psychological outlook of the patients. If the patient is depressed and is planning to get the surgery to get out of depression, it is essential for the surgeon to suggest that they get the depression treated before considering the surgery. Safe cosmetic surgery depends as much on the patient as on the doctor.

One thing is certain: cosmetic surgery has many benefits and they override the drawbacks. The reason why cosmetic surgery is scorned by many is because of its misuse and the false publicity it receives from the press every time an actor or actress gets a nose job or a breast implant. Yes, as the way a person looks is fast gaining precedence over many other things, cosmetic surgery is also gaining ground as a great and highly sought after profession.
